Arboreal MWN v0.8 (02/08/2013)
In this documentation unless otherwise noted "Arboreal" refers to "Arboreal MWN."
There are several ways how to add a new XML text to Arboreal. If you have an existing XML file that you would like to add, simply drag and drop it into the project it should belong to in the "Project Explorer." Another way is to right-click on a project and select "Import..." In the wizard that opens under "General" select "File System" and click "Next >". For "From directory" select the folder that contains your XML file by clicking "Browse..." The contents of the folder you've selected will appear below the "From directory" input field. Check all files you would like to import and click "Finish."
To create a new XML file right-click on the project you'd like the new XML file to be and select "New" and then "File." Enter a filename. You can also choose a different project at that point. Click "Finish."
There are two XML editors/viewers in Arboreal: the Arboreal editor, and the XML editor. The XML editor lets you edit your XML. It has a source view that shows you the plain XML and a design view that gives you a tree view of your XML. For very large XML texts, the XML editor can take some time to open.
The Arboreal editor has a tree view of the XML on the left side of the editor and a syntax highlighted contents view on the right side. The contents view will show all in the tree view selected elements.
You can expand or collapse the XML tree on the left side of the Arboreal editor to any level by clicking the "Expand/Collapse" button in the toolbar of Arboreal:
Or you can expand all children of a node by right-clicking on that node and selecting "Expand children" from the context menu that appears.
To open an XML file in the default editor, double-click on the file in the Project Explorer. The default editor is the editor that the file was opened with last, or if it was never opened the XML editor.
To open a file in a specific editor, right-click on the file in the Project Explorer. Then choose "Open With" and select an editor from the list of editors that appears.
